Keynote Lecture Abstract

Culture Evolves: Can We Preserve It?

Culture is in a perpetual state of evolution, shaped by global forces that both propel and challenge its continuity. Amidst this flux, the preservation of intangible cultural heritage (ICH) emerges as a pressing imperative. While strides have been made in safeguarding these treasures, the true test lies in ensuring their enduring relevance and vitality.

This session will be a journey into Singapore's dedication to preserving and promoting ICH. Focusing on the innovative strategies employed by the Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre, we will delve into the heart of cultural preservation to understand how we can uphold the legacy of our heritage and ensure its enduring presence in the tapestry of human culture.
