Press Corps
The Press Corps plays an essential role in acting as the liaison between the public and the United Nations. Journalists transcribe all of this information into concise and informative reports on UN Committee proceedings and international affairs.
The main role of the Press Corps is to provide insight and commentary to the progression of debate by means including (but not limited to) sitting in during committee sessions. Delegates will also be allowed to interview country delegates and hold press conferences, so as to influence the debate and cross-examine other delegates.

Meet The Chairs

Ang Siang Teng
Krystal
As a Sec 4 literature student in Nanyang Girls’ High School, Krystal is full of anticipation for this year. She had a special fondness for classical music, particularly favoring Chopin and Beethoven. Likewise, musicals and ballets also hold a special place in her heart. She enjoys reading and returning to a home filled with books, embracing everything about them. In her free time, she loves jotting down random ideas . She is also keen on writing news reports. Krystal sincerely hopes that delegates can find their own enjoyment in BYMUN, and is delighted to meet everyone!

Liu Shuyu Fish
Shuyu is currently a Year 1 student in Hwa Chong Institution, but compared to Shuyu, she prefers to be called Fish. In daily life, she enjoys reading to pass time, and would also write occasionally. However, as a Science-stream student, she is most passionate about Physics, Math, and related topics, especially Astrophysics. So if you want to reel in this fish, why not find a grassy field after sunset and see if you can find her staring at the night sky, hoping to spot a few stars.

Ong Hui Li Cathleen
A 17 year old matriculated into Hwa Chong Institution, Cathleen wonders how she’s survived 4 years of being in the circuit. Having taken a break from the circuit, this is her first time writing an introduction in 2 years. However, her interests virtually remain the same. She enjoys writing free-verse poetry, dancing and reads books once in a blue moon. Feel free to converse with her on East-Asian culture, history, ASEAN politics and more. Cathleen hopes that delegates who make the choice to delve into the world of Press enjoy their time here, and looks forward to seeing everyone soon!

Liu Ruihan Rachel
Rachel is a Sec 4 student at Nanyang Girls’ High School who will be chairing for the first time at BYMUN 2024. In her free time, she enjoys exploring music ranging from Western Classical to Japanese-Rock, as well as rewatching Korean dramas from the 2017 to 2020 period (which she considers to be the peak of good dramas.) She hopes that BYMUN will prove to be a fulfilling and eye-opening journey for delegates!

Esther Seng Ying Ying
As a Sec 4 student currently at Nanyang Girls’ High School, Esther finds herself inundated with the increase in academic workload. During her spare time, she seeks solace in the verses of Classical Chinese poetry, occasionally writing prose. Apart from that, Esther is also a student correspondent for Lianhe Zaobao, meticulously writing articles for school events. She earnestly hopes that everyone of you can make the best of the time here in BYMUN and forge meaningful connections with like-minded ones.
