United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA)
From air pollution to land degradation, our environment is undergoing a treacherous time, as seen in the drastic climate changes in recent years. Hence, the UNEA plays an important role as it strives to work for the environment and resolve environmental challenges as a united global front. In the UNEA, countries come together to formulate policies and mandates that tackle environmental challenges.
UNEA strives to carry out programmes and policies that reduce harmful environmental impacts.
OVERVIEW
EVs, aka Electric Vehicles, or better— Everlasting Viridian— serves as our council’s centre of discussion.
With the well known fact of greenhouse gases being responsible for climate change, EVs are our means to clear the sky. However, many countries still face challenges in adopting them on a larger scale. With increasing environmental threats, EVs are in high demand, but technology is not evenly distributed globally.
Furthermore, the manufacturing of EV still poses environmental concerns that will worsen with higher demand. Delegates will be expected to discuss current challenges regarding EV adoption and propose relevant solutions.

Meet The Chairs

Shi Xinran
Swift, sarcastic and workaholic are all words friends have used to describe Xinran. As a JC1 student, Xinran could often be found dazing off, wondering to herself: will I end the school year or will the school year end me? She will then snap out of it and turn to roast her back-row friend, Ruizhen. In her natural habitat (her bed), Xinran would most probably be LOCKED IN (trust) or listening to the same basic song on repeat until she eventually falls asleep (after 5 minutes). She hopes that all delegates will have a fulfilling and enriching BYMUN experience!

Lim Jing Yi Zoe
Zoe is a Secondary 4 student from Nanyang Girls’ High School. She’s thrilled to be serving as a Council Chair for BYMUN this year and looks forward to engaging in meaningful discussions. When she’s not immersed in school work, Zoe enjoys reading, writing, catching up on movies and most importantly, taking well-deserved naps. She’s excited to meet passionate delegates from other schools and hopes to make BYMUN a valuable experience for all.

Chen Ruizhen
Food. Fanfiction. Freedom (totally). As a JC1 student in Hwa Chong Institution, Ruizhen could often be caught staring into space dreaming about a life of wind and green living in a nice cottage in the countryside from one of her many Pinterest pins. A lover of music, she often listens to Johnny Huynh, 薛之谦 and 周杰伦 while sometimes attempting to belt out opera style songs in the bathroom. She plays the piano (when not under pressure) and the trumpet. Her daily activities include sleeping, eating, brooding, and of course, shutting her friend Xinran up with comebacks so smart she automatically wins. With her favorite composer being Joe Hisaishi, Ruizhen hopes that all delegates in BYMUN 2026 would be able to discover something as whimsical and miraculous as his pieces, and that everyone would have a fulfilling experience!
