United Nations General Assembly
Established in 1945, the United Nations General Assembly (GA) is the main deliberative, policymaking and representative organ of the United Nations. It comprises all the UN member and observer states, and meets annually from September to December. GA is a forum that provides a special opportunity for multilateral discussion on all topics included in the UN Charter.
OVERVIEW
In GA, delegates will be discussing the impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) on poverty reduction. Through discussing the various applications, feasibility and potential implications of AI, delegates will determine whether the introduction of AI will have a positive or negative effect on poverty reduction. We hope that through BYMUN, delegates can gain greater insight into poverty reduction as well as the various topics impacting the global community. We look forward to your enthusiastic participation!

Meet The Chairs

Li Rui Hua
Ruihua is a Sec 4 student at Nanyang Girls’ High School, her CCA is St John’s Brigade. While her MBTI is INFP, she can be considered quite talkative at times, so don’t hesitate to interact with her. In school her favorite subject is history, she will sometimes read up or watch documentaries on European history in her free time as well. Outside of school, she is an otaku and prefers to just stay at home and chill. Her interest in history and international relationships actually stemmed from her favorite anime. Coupled with her habit of reading newspapers, she decided to join BYMUN. She hopes everyone can have a great time here in Nanyang!

Foo Ying Han
Ying Han is a JC2 student studying in Hwa Chong Institution. Often being described as a person who gives off golden retriever vibes (not in the derogatory way), Ying Han is always radiating with optimism and cheerfulness, making her the go-to person for a conversation. Don't be shy - feel free to talk to her anytime! She has a strong passion for the Chinese language, and she does xiangsheng, which is stand-up comedy, but in chinese! Anyway, she wishes that all delegates will be able to grow together and make BYMUN204 a collection of wonderful memories she can be proud of.

Sophie Liu
Sophie is a Sec 4 student at Nanyang Girls’ High School. An ENFP through and through, you’ll likely see her starting conversations with strangers with a bad joke. Being a Bio Lit student, if she’s not over-annotating (overthinking!) a poem, she’s probably memorising facts about dinosaurs. During the conference, she hopes that delegates will have fruitful discussions. At the end of the day, she truly hopes that every delegate will have a meaningful and memorable BYMUN experience.
